The collection housed at the Centre predominantly features the personal library and archive of the late Director of the Centre for the Study of Greek Philosophy at the Academy of Athens, Professor Dr Linos Benakis (1928-2022). This valuable assemblage was graciously bestowed upon the Centre through a generous donation by Professor Emerita of the University of Athens and member of the Academy of Athens Mrs. Anna Psarouda-Benakis, Linos Benakis’ widow. Within this repository, one can find a plethora of manuscripts, source editions, translations of primary sources into modern languages, and scholarly studies covering various epochs of philosophy, ranging from ancient to medieval and modern times. Of particular significance is the extensive representation of Byzantine philosophical production, which constitutes the most substantial segment of the collection.
